Has anyone else come to the conclusion that when President Trump announces a ceasefire in the Iran conflict, it is for two reasons:

1. He wants to manipulate the stock market for a brief monetary gain.

2. He wants a pause to keep from entirely depleting the USA's munitions and/or to re-stock the USA's munitions.

Since these are both unilateral choices by President Trump, it would explain why Iran has no idea about the announced ceasefires.

An interesting observation worth more examination. It might be too extreme to dismiss it in its entirety as nonsense'. One way to do that would be to consider the difference between the best and the worst school district within a state. It might be even better to throw out the best/worst values and then compare the difference between states.

I remember several low-power/avant-garde stations in my area sprouting up around 1967-1968. Those early days (1967-1970) were a sheer delight and likely never to be repeated. Worse, they were soon replaced with DISCO. *sigh*.

These folks typically are refugees (politically, economically, violence, and/or otherwise).

Asking for safety/help is not the same as asking for a handout.

They are not stripping our resources. If anything, typically they are a net POSITIVE (financially, culturally, etc.).

Fifty years ago, the USA celebrated 200 years since its Declaration of Independence with a President that was not elected.

Today, the USA celebrates 250 years since its Declaration of Independence with a President that likely will be evaluated as one of the worst (if not THE worst) President in its history. A President that can list amongst his most visible accomplishments:
- recklessly endangering the US's (and the WORLD's!) economy with specious application of tariffs and sneak attacks on Iran,
- the destruction of the East Wing,
- paving over the elegant Rose Garden,
- mass pardoning of those arrested for the J6 riot,
- turning the South Lawn into a 'circus venue',
- the failure to fix the Reflection Pool (in fairness: it's commendable to expend $$$/effort to address the algae problem. HOWEVER, it is pathetically disgraceful to entrust that task to a no-bid crony and then blame others for the failure!).

Whether due to apathy, ignorance, maliciousness, or some other reason(s): there's no excuse for allowing the USA to come to this point.

An intense time for me.

This album was released the day after my birthday and only about six weeks before the draft lottery drawing which was to determine if I was going to go back to college in the Fall or going to go to Vietnam. In many ways, this album (and Joni Mitchell in general) was a small life preserver for my psyche then.
